A Less-Expensive Alternative to "Real" Model Trains, June 25, 2011

First of all, the track that comes with this set is not much good. I believe we threw it in the trash.
Second, the train itself and the construction vehicles that come on it are excellent. Obviously, my boys wanted to play with the front loader, dump truck, and bulldozer too, so I unscrewed them from the flatbed cars. They are now out in our sandbox performing construction duty. It's like getting two toys in one.
The best thing about this set is that it runs on O-Gauge model train track. Plus, it's made to be a toy, so it doesn't have tiny little parts that will break like "real" model train cars and engines. I let my boys run it on my Lionel track all day long without worrying about them breaking something expensive. I've got two active 3 and 4-year-olds and the train is still chugging along.
This set is well worth the price for boys' fun and dad's peace-of-mind!
